I love J.Cole he gives balance out the game, he is able to give you the club records and give you songs that shed light on hard-hitting topics like young pregnancy. Lost ones gives you both sides of the story and makes you think who side would you pick? since this issue is so touching it made the cut for the album I'm glad he made that choice. Just Venting

Ever thought about giving up? ever thought about just throwing away your dreams because you feel as if you dont have the support of others? Idk about yall but its happen to me too many times with this blog. I think that's one of the reason why I dont post everyday besides me working and not wanting to post the same shit you can read on everybody else's pages. Trust I love to express myself and get stuff of my chest. I love the people that come to my blog and read my opinions but sometimes I wonder, If I just left this blog and never looked back who would notice .. Then I have my days where a stranger or friend my mention my blog and I feel as if my work is not going unnoticed, but when I ask for feedback or things of that nature I go ignored. So it's frustrating at times, BUT I'm NOT giving up. I like to write I like to express and I like to blog about what's on my mind so No matter if NOONE reads this blog I will continue to do me.. I do this for me and nobody else .. Just had to get that off my chest. I say it all the time I love my supporters .. and I know I have to work harder to get more of them. I'm not done with the page yet my ideas are out of the roof ..

Deeper Look: Shanelle Gabriel

This poem here sparked my interest in this young lady. I watched it soo much I pretty much know it by heart. I searched her youtube channel and became a fan. I seen her at the Wordspit showcase a couple weeks ago. I contacted her and fast forward to today and here we have a interview with Ms.Gabriel. 
I wanted to know the woman behind the poems.. 

Truth: Where are you from? Where did you grow up?  
Shanelle Gabriel: Born & raised in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn to Trinidadian parents.


T: What made you want to become a writer? What made you want to perform your work to a crowd? 
SG: I was always a reader, a complete bookworm. Reading made me love writing. My love of people made me want to share my work. I was already used to singing in front of crowds (I was known as a singer most of my life), so it wasn't a terrible transition. I remember seeing spoken word artists like Gemineye, The 5th L, and others perform and I thought to myself "Hey, I can do that." I tried it, and got bit by the poetry bug.


T: Now that you have a name and buzz for yourself , Do you get recognized a lot? 
SG: Yes, and it always surprises me. Someone will walk up to me in the most random of places and say, "I know you from somewhere...Do you do poetry?" Or I get "You're that poet! The 'You make me sick' poet!" (referencing my poem from HBO's Def Poetry Jam). Or they may have seen me at other venues and places. It happens almost every where I go, both in and out of NYC. I remember it happening in Tempe, Arizona. Random! I still don't expect it, but I appreciate the love.  

T: Now for me personally your poem "Why I love You" is my personal favorite? Did that come from a real experience? 
SG: Thanks! All of my work comes from personal experiences. Very rarely do I write about one specific situation. I tend to combine people and experiences to tell a story. That poem was about different types of quirks in different guys I've dated. Yes, a guy did once tell me to "suck it up" when I complained to him about some drama I was having. Lol. But those quirks were what made each of them unique and reminded me that we're all flawed in some ways. Love is about seeing the cracks & chips in a work of art and it still not losing its value in your heart.

Beyonce channeled her inner New Edition with her new video for Love On Top. As soon as I seen it I thought of  " If It Isn't Love".. This video is simple but effective .. Idk how Bey be shaking all around with no bra on .. I guess that's the benefit of small boobies .. But she gives you life watching the video .. Sometimes you don't need a bunch of unnecessary things or over the top graphics to have a good video. Don't believe watch.

The last couple days I been listening to a mix of Justin Timberlake to Frank Ocean to Big Sean .. so I dont have a song of the day I have SONGSSS ..

My 1st song is from Tank and it's called Compliments and I love the meaning of the song. If your having a bad day ladies peep this song .. it should make you smile ..

Now I'ma keep it funky ..  When I first listened to Frank Ocean's mixtape I didn't like it .. so I only listened to Novacane and Swim Good.. But the other day something made me listen to it again and Nature Feels and Love Crimes caught me off guard .. So now those are on Repeat ..

I REALLYYYYYYY want Justin Timberlake to get back to the MUSIC damnit .. Justified and Future Sex Love Sounds are WONDERFUL albums why  leave that behind .. I get that he wants to do more and movies are more money but I miss Justin dancing on stage .. (I used to have the illest crush on him =X) Justin gives me that smooth music that I loveeeeeeee .. like Take A Ride and thats the song I pick for today

Cole World : J.Cole Hits Number 1

As a fan of this man I am personally excited .. Idk why you would think that I helped him make that album lol .. But to see his journey and see him succeed is WONDERFULLLLLL.. 217k in the 1st week (According to Hits Daily Double) .. Sideline Story is a great addition to music that we have been blessed with ..
